Athletes Edge

The Athlete’s Edge has joined forces with the Missouri Redhawks to become their Official Endurance and Enhancement Trainers. At The Athlete’s Edge, athletic enhancement training programs are designed for every level based on your specific goals, age, position, and experience level as well as the specific demands of your sport.  By increasing strength, endurance, flexibility and correcting movement patterns, the training you will receive at The Athlete’s Edge will lead to enhanced productivity and reduce risk for injury. 

The training programs include:

  • Performing a dynamic warm up to enhance flexibility, improvebalance, and prepare the body for training
  • Improving agility to increase quickness and reaction abilities
  • Using plyometrics to improve explosiveness and help preventinjuries Learning the proper techniques to improve speed andagility
  • Core training to strengthen the torso’s stabilizing muscles, whichare critical to all athletic movements
  • Workouts using body weight, dumbbells, medicine balls, and elastictubing
  • Enhancing cardiovascular training geared toward enhancingoverall fitness level and meeting the demands of the athlete’ssport
  • Learning mental toughness that will benefit the athlete in all aspectsof life

Training Style:
Clinton brings over 15 years experience coaching athletes of all ages in speed, agility, strength and conditioning programs.  He is a specialist in functional training techniques that incorporate core stability with correct movement patterns.  Clinton has worked with athletes from the MLB, NFL, Division I, Division II college football, baseball and soccer.  Some of his clients include former St. Louis Cardinal Kyle McClellan, NFL player Neal Rackers, professional runner Serena Burla, Neal Lamark Brown of Kansas State, and Ryan Ward of Southern University.

Biography:
Clinton’s journey into the fitness world started back in college.  He was a decathlete on the track team and used every tool that was at his disposal to help improve physically.  Clinton has taken that knowledge and applied it to teaching Physical Education and coaching high school athletes.  He then started a personal training company focused on helping athletes reach their full potential.

Brett Graves

Brett trains athletes of all ages in speed, agility, strength and conditioning programs that incorporate core stability with correct movement patterns.  Brett works with Players to develop arm strength, arm speed and arm endurance needed to play any position on the field. Includes Cross Over Symmetry, weighted ball throwing drills, Plyometric Drills for Arm Explosion and positioning Techniques for improved Muscle Performance.

Drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 26th round of the 2011 MLB June
Amateur Draft from Francis Howell HS (St. Charles, MO)
Selected by the Oakland Athletics in the third round of the 2014 First -Year Draft out of the University of Missouri

High School:
Guided Francis Howell to a 2011 MSHSAA State Championship after compiling a 32-3 record on the season
Named First Team Louisville Slugger All-American and All-Metro Player of the Year in St. Louis after going 9-1 with a 1.95 ERA and 70 strikeouts. He also hit .441 with six home runs and 35 RBI as the Vikings leadoff hitter.Named Missouri Gatorade Player of the Year in 2011 after splitting time on the mound and at short stop for Francis Howell. Three-time All-State selection in baseball from 2009-11. GAC Conference Player of the Year in 2010. GAC All-Conference (football) in 2009 as he was Francis Howell’s starting quarterback and fielded many opportunities to pursue a collegiate football career. Led Francis Howell football to a 2009 conference championship and the team claimed conference, district and sectional titles in 2010. 2011 Scholar Athlete.
